Have you seen When You're Strange yet? I was planning on catching it at ACMI. Wanna go?

I also want to see Ride, Rise, Roar and Pandora and the Flying Dutchman.

We saw it last night. I put off seeing it in NYC and at the MIFF after reading a slew of a very middling reviews of it overseas. But it's pretty excellent. Worth it to see all of that great footage on the big screen alone. Only real complaint is that a few of the lines Johnny Depp is asked to effuse in his narration border on naff (and that's a small complaint).

I have a screener of Ride, Rise, Roar right here as I'm interviewing its director for Beat on Saturday via phone. Feeling very under-equipped, I must admit. When's Pandora and the Flying Dutchman? We should totally get to that!

Kathy - Doors movie was awesome! So much Jim Morrison. Very cool footage. We got to see it at a member screening but I think it comes out for reals in Jan.

Great to see that Bill Hicks is still in the public consciousness.

I was lucky enough to see him perform once; he had landed in London on the day of the L.A riots and spent the first half hour of his show improvising about it brilliantly. Denis Leary, on the other hand, will never have a film made about him. Unless it's in the ego museum of his own plagiaristic self regarding mind.
