I Love You Phillip Morris Poster

The first one-sheet for the Jim Carrey/Ewan McGregor black comic prison romance two-hander, I Love You Phillip Morris, recently appeared at IMPAwards and it’s certainly some kind of garish.

Enlarge (if you dare):

Written and directed by Bad Santa scribes Glenn Ficara and John Riqua, I Love You Phillip Morris sees Carrey’s married, closeted conman fall in love with his prison cellmate (McGregor) after his underhanded lifestyle finally catches up with him.

No Australian release has been set.

Luc Besson Exec produces!
Does that mean there will be HK style martial arts involved?

I just re-watched dumb and dumber, and the Ace Ventura movies. Now I'm int he mood for some serious Carrey moments.

Regarding the martial arts, my guess is...

Yes.

Have you ever seen Man on the Moon? That and Eternal Sunshine rep my favourite Carrey performances. He can be so great, people just seldom know how to use him. I'm looking forward to hearing more about that one he has on the cards with Jason Reitman...

I sort of want to see the Majestic, I think that one is the only one of his 'serious' performance movies that I haven't seen. Agreed on Eternal Sunshine. Even Truman show was pretty awesome. My friend is convinced the Cable Guy is a good movie. I didn't like it when I saw it at age 11...don't know if I will now.

I dig Cable Guy too. And Truman Show is great. Majestic? Not so much. It's okay, just very maudlin. Great cast, though.
