Robert D. Siegel, screenwriter of The Wrestler, makes his directorial debut with Big Fan in which Patton Oswalt plays an obsessive football nut who’s dealt a savage beating by his favourite player. Looking more parts dark character study than its set-up when paired with the involvement of Oswalt might initially suggest, the film’s first trailer is up at Yahoo! Movies.
Watch here.
Notch me up as very interested...

Surprising.
I just saw his face and went "Ah, that guy from King of Queens and swift death-taker from Blade Trinity", but not at all what I was expecting.
I had no idea he was in King of Queens and remember only two things from Blade Trinity:
1) VamParker
2) "Cock-juggling thunder-c*nt"
Big Fan, meanwhile, looks great. Nice to see Oswalt following a more interesting path (thus far, at least) as a bigscreen performer than many a stand-up before him.
Also the voice of Ratatouille and one of the best stand-up comedians I've ever had the privilege of seeing live.
This trailer looks especially encouraging that he can handle more dramatic fare, and seeing him play off Kevin Corrigan will be a treat. Excited.
You have to love Pixar's choices in voice talent - Oswalt, Jeff Garlin... hardly the first two guys you'd think of when casting a cartoon for the kiddies.
Corrigan, meanwhile, is great. Cool to see Oswalt's also on the bill for The Informant!
